Spanish chef Ángel León writes about the importance of transparency and efficient management of fisheries. He argues that Spain can secure this by supporting the consolidation of two key measures in the new fisheries Control Regulation: Remote Electronic Monitoring (REM) and the margin of tolerance (MOT).
He calls on Minister Luis Planas to ensure Spain leads the digitisation of the EU fisheries sector by strongly defending REM and the MOT in the Council negotiations.
